Peel the layers of stress away! Relaxing and practice mindfulness through nature connection. We’ll do a series of activities to engage our senses, bring us to the present moment, hone intuition and connect with the natural world around us. Over time we have started to lose our connection with nature as more technology creeps into our lives. Wash away some of the technology induced stress of modern life and reconnect to nature. This approach is called Shinrin Yoku.
Materials Needed – Please bring a snack and water, or if the day is cold you might want to consider bringing a thermos with a hot drink. Wear comfortable clothing and good shoes for walking on easy trails & sunscreen/hat. If the weather is cool you should also dress to stay warm! I suggest you bring one more layer than you think you will need. We will be moving at a leisurely pace and in the shade so temperatures may be cooler than you expect. The walk will still be on if it's raining, unless it is a really big downpour or violent storm. If it is raining it's important to have a waterproof shell including pants, and many people bring umbrellas also. Rain often enhances sensory experience and makes for some of our most memorable walks.
